Mathematics Karen Hayes seems fascinated with the study of geometric design. Other interested students are: Patricia Youngpeter, Keith Hall, Thomas Reis, and Gerald Hesseling. Are you sure that is a real number? This is the ques- tion at hand as Jeanne Helmkamp and Michael Pohlman explain the real number system to Bonnie EUerbrock, Kay Kaverman, and Kenneth Hoersten. 4 Notice the similarity between the sine curve and cosine curve, explains Donald Pohlman, as Math IV students Edward Pohlman, Ann Wulfhorst, Dale Jostpille, and Pamela Clark grasp the problem. SJH Delegations The 10th Annual Ohio Association of Stu- dent Councils, held from July 21 to July 26 at Ohio University, Athens, has brought a better understanding of the workings of the Association to Robert Wegesin, and Marilyn Scherger, Council President and Vice-President respectively. Dale Jostpille, Boys ' State Delegate, and Annette Van Oss and Nancy Mack, Girls ' State Delegates, realize the important role citizens play in maintaining good government. Alternates to Girls ' State, Diana Grubenhoff and Susan Brandehoff, and Alternate Boys ' State Representative, Larry Topp, deserve recognition for being chosen for their honorary positions. f. v;.. „ • - ' 1 ■ 1 , f . Religion A pilgrimage would be inspiring but Fresh- man Religion students, Elizabeth Heitz, Susan Hoehn, Martha Scherger, KristenBirkemeyer, and Diane Moenter are satisfied to follow the journeys of Christ by map. He has conducted the band in a Slave Day and other fund raising projects; he has prepared the band for countless parades, marching contests, and street-corner serenades to raise money. Thanks to him these new Band uniforms have become a reality! Majorettes Under the leadership of head majorette Sonnie Osting this peppy quartet dazzeled the audience with their precision twirling routine. They are: Ann Wulfhorst, Sharon Drewyore, and Janet Scherger. The newly organized Pompon girls proved to be a welcome addition to the 1964 marching band. A spe- cial thanks to Mrs. Bonnie Meyers who as- sisted the group as choreographer for their many delightful half- time performances. Concert 72 Band 73 Class Speakers ANNETTE VAN OSS Commencement speak- ers for the Class of 1964 were Annette Van Oss Sal- utatorian, and Carl Heitz Jr. Valedictorian. Annette and Carl were chosen for this honor on the basis of their high scholastic average dur- ing the four years of high school. CARL HEITZ JR. In Memoriam Sadly missed by all who knew him is Gerald Wannemacher, a member of the Class of 1964. Gerry died just before the beginning of his junior year. All who knew him considered him a fine example of Christian youth. He has become an ideal for the Class of 1964 and we pray to him often for help and guidance. We trust he will remember us, his classmates, in a special way. Queen Pam Homecoming 1963 Rhapsody In Blue Graceful anticipation is the phrasethat best describes Pam ' s expression as she is escorted to her throne. Wish I may, wish I might, whispers Queen Pam as Michael Van Schoylc, Mission President and Robert Wegisin, Student Council President, place the crown upon her head.
