5 T7 ' DED We the students of St. John's are honored to dedicate this 1958 issue of the Crest to the Right Reverend Monsignor Carl F. Reineck. Monsignor celebrated his Ruby Jubilee to the priesthood on December 22, i957 . He devoted eighteen of these forty years to improving St. John's Parish. For eighteen years he labored with boundless energy, forever striving to make the best better. His leadership in spiritual activities has inspired many young men and women to enter the priesthood and the religious life. So many vocations were made possible only by his foresight in encouraging all the parish- ioners to frequent the sacraments, to support the missions, and to give their children a Catholic education . We who are reaping the benefits from Monsignor's plan of education owe him a debt of deep gratitude. 4

OUR PRINCIPAL Our Principal, Father Thomas Kuhn, was born in Tiffin, Ohio, where he completed his elementary and secondary education. He obtained his B. A. degree in philosophy, while attending St. Meinrad's Seminary in St. Meinrad, Indiana. Father Kuhn then spent four years at Mt. St. Mary's of the West in Cincinnati. His studies in education were made at this time in connection with the Athenaeum of Ohio in Cincinnati, and he received his M. A. degree in philosophy from that institute in l957. Shortly after his first appointment, to our parish, in June l957, Monsignor Carl F. Reineck appointed him Principal of Delphos St. John's High School. Besides his duties as Principal, Father Kuhn is also Director of Athletics and instructor of apologetics for the senior class. This year Father has also filled the capacity of Director of Dramatics for the senior play. OUR SCHOOL SECRETARY Mrs. Henry Weisgerber, an alumna of St. John's, is the high school secretary. She keeps the school office in good running condition, by her efficiency and cheerfulness. 6
