NIJSSEN, our Junior and Senior Band Director, is a native of Kerkrade, Netherlands. He is a x graduate of S.M.A. Colleges in Netherlands and did his Post-Graduate work at Bowling Green University. This is Mr. Niissen's seventh year at St. John's. This year he developed St. John's Marching Band for the Football J I MR. LLOYD SMITH obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Ohio State University. This is the world headquarters of the Sisters who have staffed St. John's school for the past eighty years. In this Generalate resides Mother Mary Vera, Superior General of the Or- der. This Congregation consists of 34l2 Sisters who staff 29l foundations in eight countries throughout the world: United States, South A- merica, Holland, England, Germany, Indonesia, India, and Italy. In the United States the Notre Dame Sisters have three Provinces: Toledo and Cleveland in Ohio, and Covington in Kentucky. The nine Sisters who staff St. John's High School and sixteen in St. John's Grade School belong to the Toledo Pro- vince whose 327 Sisters staff twenty-seven schools in the Toledo Diocese. Mother Mary Eventia, a former teacher of Delphos St. John's, is Provincial Superior with headquarters on Secar Road, in Toledo.
