He was born in Stanford, Montana, April l5, l9l6. He received his A.B. degree atCathoIic University. He was ordained a Priest at Holy Rosary Cathe- dral on June l8, l943. After a summer assignment at Sandusky St. Mary's he has been stationed at St. John's, and has taught at St. John's High for thirteen years. Om U O Z FR. RICHARD MILLER, a new teacher on our staff, comes from Lima St. Rose Parish where he was born in l925. He received his A.B. degree at St. Meinrad's Seminary and was ordained at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, in l95O. He came to Delphos from St. Peter and Paul's Par- ish, Sandusky. He grad- uatedfrom St. John's High School, Toledo, Ohio. He attended St.John'sCollege, Toledo, received his A, B, degree in l932 from St. Gregory's Sem- inary and hisM.A. in Philosophy from MountSt . Mary's Seminary in l936. He was ordained June 6, l936. From Columbia Universityin New York he received his M.A. in English in l938. Since September 25, l938 he has been an assistant at St. John's Parish, a teacher in St. John's High School, and Directorof Athletics. ln September, I943 he was appointed by Monsignor Reineck as our Principal. This is the world headquarters of the Sisters who have staffed St. John's school for the past eighty years. In this Generalate resides Mother Mary Vera, Superior General of the Or- der. NIJSSEN, our Junior and Senior Band Director, is a native of Kerkrade, Netherlands. He is a x graduate of S.M.A. Colleges in Netherlands and did his Post-Graduate work at Bowling Green University. This is Mr. Niissen's seventh year at St. John's. This year he developed St. John's Marching Band for the Football J I MR. LLOYD SMITH obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Ohio State University. Father James Steinle, a graduate of Delphos St. John's class of '44 was sub-deacon and Father Ricker's brother, Kevin Ricker ofthe class of '55 was master ofcer- emonies. JOHN'S LITTLE THEATER FEBRUARY 6, T956 Under the co-chairmanship of Richard Vogt and Viriean Dickman, the Junior Class transformed the Little Theater and Cafeteria into aWonderl and of Stardust. The Juniors' mothers prepared an elab- orate banquet which started the evening. Richard Vogt acted as toastmaster. Roger Oden- weller welcomed the Seniors, Richard Schlagbaum respondedin their name. Speakers of the banquet were: Mr. Niissen, Mr. Arnzen, Mr. Smith, Fath- er Gillig, Father Miller, Father Herr and Monsi- gnor Reineck. The enchanting music of Hadyn Snyder's orchestra added a final touch to a gala evening.
