A Change of Face In the 1984-1985 school year, one of the most obvious changes at St. John’s High is the addition of Mr. Ed Jones as principal. Mr. Jones has been a promi- nent figure at school and during extra- curricular activities throughout the school year. He comes to us after serving as prin- cipal at Aynor High School for 15 years. We are very pleased to welcome him to his first year at St. John’s! 2

TO THE STUDENTS OF ST. JOHN'S: As we begin the 1984-85 school year, let us consider the many new rules and regulations that have been enacted by the legislature and will affect the school lives of all students and teachers. Some of the major factors to be considered are the increased number of units required for graduation, the emphasis placed on attendance and the effort to keep students in school. The new eligibility requirements in- sure the passing of all required subjects before a stu- dent is allowed to participate in any type of extra- curricular activities and, finally, the “time-on-tasks” mandates a minimum of fifty-five minute class periods throughout the day. It has been projected that the “Governor's Package” will increase the educational abilities of our students. Let’s all work together to insure that all students have the opportunity to attain their maximum goals. I will always be available to assist in anyway possible to make your experiences at St. John’s rewarding. It is a new beginning for all of us: let’s make the most of it. 3
