Auditors - John Bethea Phillip Campbell The theme for the annual Miss Blue Devil Pageant was I'm Impressed. The Pageant turned out to be a very successful event for both the Annual Staff and the Student Council, co-sponsors. Fourteen talented and beautiful young ladies participated in the areas of sportswear, tal- ent, and evening gown competition. These young ladies were: Mickey McKay, Janine Langley, Christal Johnson, Carol Jett, Cheryl Dowdy, Beth Morse, Emily Garris, Monica Godfrey, Ivy Adams, Susan Ritter, Tara Powers, Diana Williamson, Jam Smyre, and Robin Slater. One of SJH's own teachers was the Master of Ceremo- nies this year: Mr. Ernie Harrell. Special entertainment was presented by Danny Cohen, a student at SJH. He was accompanied by Mrs. Pat Alexander on the piano. This evening was a very special one for Miss Cheryl Dowdy, a Junior at SJH, who was crowned Miss Blue Devil 1976 by Miss Diane Hudson, the 1975 Miss Blue Devil. First runner-up was Miss Jan Smyre, a Senior, and 2nd runner-up was Miss Monica Godfrey, a Sophomore. The most difficult decision for the judges was the talent com- petition. Miss Christal Johnson won this honor by doing a baton routine. Congratulations to these winners and to all the contestants, because they were all winners. 21
