Forensics: Talking a Blue Streak c., Q i T Mr. Stern presents speaking awards The Forensic Club consists of approximately 6 8 students from grades 7 12 As mem bers of the Florida Forensic Program QFFPJ the students compete in forensics tourna ments which take place in both public and private high schools in Northern Florida counties The categories in which they participate are Oral Interpretation Group Interpretation and Original Oratory These competitions begin during the month of November The zenith ofthe year is in February when the St johns River junior Col lege sponsors their district tournament Winners then participate inthe state tourna ment at the University of South Florida in Tampa in March Students must obtain 25 speaking points in FFP to obtain membership in the National Forensic League QNFLD In the NFL students can earn awards for Honor Excellence Distinction and Special Distinction for more points This year St johns will be hosting a tournament Stu dents compete forfriendship competition knowledge and recognition , - ' 1 1 I 1 I 1 l n 1 - I I 1 ' Members: ffrom left to rightj Stephanie Edwards, Treasurer, Kit Townsend, Bill Darm, Bronwyn McCain Candy Hutchins, Sponsors: Mr. Stern, Mrs. Weber, Mr. Schad Organizations f 29
