The range of tone and color is extensive: we see electrifying blue in the many sports activities, a brilliant blue in academic accomplishments, and an azure blue in our school spirit. Go Big Blue! Theme f 5 Shades of You Throughout countless transitions in her 26 years, St. Iohns has maintained one bond of continuity - its student body. The faces change and those who depart leave indelible impressions to which are joined the thoughts and aspirations of those who follow. During the change and growth, with tears as well as laughter, it is the students who give St. Iohns her meaning. It is then with smiles of joy and appreciation that we dedicate the 1979 Chalice to you, the students of St. Iohns Country Day School. N-2 IDI! 551, .P Dedication I 7 tif'-.Q . Wl' . Its purpose is to maintain the honesty of the students, and each student is expected to help every other student in his self-con- duct. The Honor Court assists in the maintaining of the honor system. It has the authority to try any and all students accused of cheating, stealing, or perjury, as defined by the Honor Court Constitu- tion and all decisions must be unani- mous. Because the Honor Court is responsible for maintaining the honor system its success lies in the cooperation of the students and their integrity. lfront rowl Liz Ribadeneyra lsecond rowj Rhoda Holt Pam Holt Paul Holt Marshall Seigler - sec- retary Mike Hoff tthird FOWD Kit Townsend David Rice F - f iii V ' . l Coach Nichols - Sponsor, Nicholas Weber - Prosecutor, Mr. Russey - Sponsor, Candy Hutchins - Chairman 10 ! The 12 day visit focused on 7 soccer games and on becoming a part of the St. johns community: attending classes and orientation sessions, relaxing in the Senior Room, partying whenever possible, and adjusting to the heat. Special activities were arranged to broaden the exposure to the U.S., or more accurately, to Florida. The Kennedy Space Center, Disney World, and the Okefenokee Swamp were visited. Swimming parties at the ocean, Kingsley, and private pools were very popular as well as typically Flori- dian. ln the state capitol, Tallahassee, the team visited the Capitol Building and met Lieutenant Governor Williams. Chesterfield's team found their American experi- ences not too different and quite pleasant. However, they were astonished by the noise of the crickets, mosquitoes, right hand driving, and the absence of the jungle fa la Tarzanj. This year's Chesterfield visit represented the initiation of a new dimen- sion to our soccer program and to our school life. St. johns was proud to host the first phase and we look forward to the renewing friendships formed this Fall and learning the first-hand realities of school and life in England , said Mr. john Abott, who is in charge of the innovative exchange program. 136 f Features Q. gl. .4 ,522 ' ' f y -f-f: ' it Q' ', ' L' Q ' ,4 V nw VW ,fr 3: +' 3 V V 4 , ,, , fir g W H H ' . .. ,,,,, f , ', ,, , ,,., , - , , , , ,N - W , , , W .
