The friendly spirit, intellectual abilities, and Christ- ian attitudes which Vic exhibited will ever be an in- spiration to us. With the march of time, progress is made. This year's student government at St. John'salso marched onward, looking not to the past, butrather to the future. They, as representatives of the students, worked for and with the students. Early last spring, they helped plan an orientation program for the new school year, then, at the beginning of the new school year, they carried out the maior portion of the program. The council also intensified the religious program on campus, and fostered the Big Brother, Big Sister program. The student council participated actively in the Lutheran Student Government at St. Paul, Minn. this past spring. Several proiects were also sponsored by the council in the duration of the school year. 16 Lois Roeder sec 3. JJ 'K N f x I . f of f l A f Dick Raedeke V. Pres. The squad finished llrs the season with a 9-13 win-loss record. i 5 ' The Eagles met their first defeat of the season at the hands of I T the Johnnie Alumni team: later they lost toTonkawa by two points. A win over Central was followed by three losses to Pratt, Ark City, and Tabor. The Eagles be- came victorious in the next game, and upset Coffeyville. Four defeats--Pratt, Hut- chinson, Ark City, Seward--cut deep, but an easy win over the Tonkawa quintet was next in store . In the All-Concordia Tournament, the Eagles conquered the Concordia, Mo., and St. Paul, Minn. , squads to win the trophy. In the last two games of the regular season, the Johnnies lost to Dodge City and won over Tulsa University freshmen.
