In April, 1930, there were over one thousand chapters, with 52,522 members. Since that time many new chapters have been granted charters. Among the new chapters is the Ironton Chapter at Holt High School, whose charter was granted in April, 1937. The purpose of this organization shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of the Amer- ican secondary schools.
