Dear Future Editor, So now the Class of '42 is guiding the destinies of the Green and Whitewl Before the Seniors saw the first issue which the Juniors put out, we might have had SOIIIQ misgivings as to how you might find your new work, but we see that the paper is in good hands. Once each month-except for the month of January, 1941, when human nature showed its weakness-we feverishly wrote, edited, and produced an issue of' the Green and White. The time we put into those eight issues was packed with work, disappointments, and humor- ous situations. Late hours were the least of our worries, and the un- expected was always around the corner. Much credit is due the stu- dents, and tl1e faculty-credit which we would like to express but find hard to put into words. But the new staff will find as we found, that only difficulties over- come can bring the ,joy of Victory-even if it is a little hlurred due to lack of sleep. The work and the efforts which we have put into the Green and White may soon be forgotten, but the reason why we expended that effort-the good of St. ,lohn's-will live on as an incen- tive for countless other students. Good luck, and remember always to . . . unfurl the Green and VVhite! Tru-1 STAFF or THE GREEN AND WHITl'I I l -9
