What It Takes in Extra-Curricular Activities More often we find our genial Louie on the business end of a shovel or stoker . . .but this is an Occasion Happy Birthday, Dear Louie and it comes from the heart of all of us, but John Doherty, Bob Guzak, Mike Parkhurst and John McKerring do the honors. What? All these on one bus! We're only kidding . . . it took four monsters like this one to take our enthusiastic crowds to the Bay City Regionals. . . despite our loss, we came back, proud of the spirit our team dis- played! Armed to the teeth, well almost, we find David Donnelly, John McKerring, Paul Kish and Jim Bigelow out looking for pigeons. As it turned out.. .we sort of wish their aims were a bit better . . .Too bad boys . . .instructions will be given out next year, if necessary. L 58

Co-operation ls Keynote to Vionnities Publicotio lt's not heat that's registered here...but an indication of a job well done on the advertising campaigne, Joanne Stanton, business manager, is elated over the results shown, and points with pride, as Camilla Reynolds, Carole Har- rison, Linda Hughes and Judy Potter, all cap- able assistants, take their bows. A E i It's not as easy as one might think... there's plenty of work to be done before the yearbook reaches the press. Here Sandra Preston, Karen Wittbrodt andJames Boike prepare to crop photographs, under the watchful eye of Mr. Goguen, advisor. In that diversification is needed to produce interesting effects, we find Janice Runyan, John Torreano, Mary Kelleghan, Jack McCormick, Diane Staley, Joanne LaBranch and Miriam McCormick talking things over, re- vising and re-vising layouts, before final approval. fi' pP' Gail Lemere, Editor-in-chief, reminds the students of coming deadlines and other publishing problems. She uses the P.A. system to call a meeting of the heads of various sections of the year- book. While we did give up many hours that could have otherwise been leisurely spent, we, the staff, felt that the Viannite was an important assignment. We only hope that you, the recipient and purchaser of this book will in some way thank us, by voicing your appreciation of our efforts in your behalf. 5.3 57 I'

You Name It We Already Have It! Being a Latin teacher in itself takes patience to no end. . .but Mr. Bester is enthusiastic in all his discourses. Here we find our eminent instructor dressed as Nero . . .and could we but turn back the clock to those days, we'd perhaps find Mr. Nero wonder- ing if he were twins. A pep rally wouldn't seem complete without the voice of Father Kavanaugh booming enthusiastically throughout the auditorium. Here he is, in all his usual fervor, mike in hand, exhorting us to further heights, further glory... Bless you Father... your're very much needed. N Sometimes we're embarrassed... and in so far as it could have been any one of us. . .we decided not to mention the names of these two who blushingly hid from the camera... We love you girls, come on out... all is forgiven.
