Our Spiritual Guides Dear Monsignor, , We have found a real friend here at St. John Vianney. Aperson whom we can trust, one who will understand. He has baptized most of us and in a few years will most likely be giving us marriage instructions. Our friend knows many of us quite well and others only by name or sight, but still he takes a personal interest in each one of us. Just a friendly nod or a cheerful smile means so much when it comes from him. He is indispensable when it comes to many school activities. It seems, however, that we don't have enough chances to say thank you to our friend- except on his birthday or his feastday. He, however, is kept constantly in our prayers-his ambitions are our ambitions, his hopes our hopes, his qualities not ours yet but those which we hope to attain. Although we may not see our friend in future years as fre- quently as now, we shall never forget all the marvelous things, which he has done for us. And so Monsignor, as you have already guessed, our friend is . . . you! i Always indebted, The Senior Class Our friend is always will- ing to help. Here he shows Carol Harrison and Ca- milla Reynolds how to run off the school paper. Pat Guerin checks for errors. 8

On the Roads to Life Dear Father, You have come to know all of us quite well since you have been here and we like to feel we know you. Our closeness has been exemplified by all the fun we've had. We will never forget the surprised look on your face the day of your birthday party or the memories of many skating parties and snowball fights. Nor will we forget our interest in your Religion class the last few months. How can we ever thank you for your advice, counseling, and friendly chats in your office. We may not have lived up to your expectations of us, but we certainly tried to please you. Well Father, we have been through many things the past two years, and though we are graduating, we hope to see you often in the future. Thanks for everything, The Senior Class, 59 9
