An Eagle runner breaks tackles. The C-Team Eagles finished the sea- son with an excellent 5-1 record. Under the guidance of coaches Mr. Ripplinger and Bro. Schrader, the Eagles displayed an awesome defense as well as a very talented offense. The Eagles rolled up an impressive 118 points for the year, an average of nearly 20 points per game. Defensively, the Eagles performed well also as they chalked up five shutouts, having only one team scoring against them. All in all, the Eagles performed superbly. So it looks like the future of Vianney football is in good hands. C-Football ' V 4 V I V 5, A V . ' if .1 1 1 .. . , N . my .. L, I i 5 . ,- ' T'3f25?'f5il'.ff'f U NW.. . Milf , First Row: J. Cross Country Under the coaching of Mr. Furrer, new to Cross- Country, and a handful of prospects, Cross-Country looked dim. With help and advice, however, Coach Furrer worked and molded the prospects into a team. Seniors Jim Loyet and Kevin Slattery were the captains of the team. The team included juniors Tony Ebert, Dave Kelly, Mark Borzillo, and Tom Turner, and others. The team engaged in the CAC meet hoping to defend its title. With five rtmners finishing in the top 16 it looked like an apparent victory. Contrary to this though, JFK nipped the Griffins by five points. A team deserving mention was the freshman team which was undefeated. The leading runners were Dave Smid, Glen Boresi, and Dave Pijut. A varsity member deserving mention is jim Loyet who was so dedicated, he trained twice a day during the season and ran close to 500 miles over the summer, and his work paid off as he finished second in the CAC meet, just being edged by another opponent. , A , .MM EH E f .25 ,K ee' f we 'Q J f rife Q 2 f sf. a'S3r1 5r2f at via s ? f if We fjf rnifhff G aaffiw 2lf555,f.!3?fi? if ae iff 2 22 693535 Evers 1 - :fl 5 , .
