An early touch- down and field goal gave the Criffins a 10-0 victory. The following three games put the Big V into high gear. With the offense rolling, Mercy took a 34-0 beating. The Lmdefeated Kennedy Celts were squelch- ed 34-0. DeAndreis suffered a 4-7-6 ponmding.

Griffins Capture CAC One by one, the opposing teams practiced, hit and preparedg one by one they took their turn and one by one they became the Golden Griffins, next victim. The Black and Gold rolled to a 9-0-1 season, and captured the CAC crown. Although undefeated, the Golden Wave was not good enough to qualify for State play. The Criffins' accomplishments were marked by several post season honors. Vianney was No. 1 in defense, No. 4- in offense in the area. ln overall rankings, the Griffins were No. 5 in the State, No. 3 in the area and No. 1 in CAC. The first four victories gave the Black and Gold the confidence and desire they needed for the remaining schedule. ln the Homecoming game against the Aquinas Falcons the offense managed but two points.
