The 1972 Vianney C-Team Eagles showed great promise for the future of Griffin football. Under the coaching of Bro. R. Schrader and Mr. D. Ripplinger the baby Griffs posted an impressive 6-0 record while allowing only 24 points and racking up two shutouts. Defense wasn't all the Eagles displayed. Their offensive team got into the heart of the spotlight by crossing the goal line at an average of 28 points a game and a total of 168 tallies of the year. The little gold machine stormed into the season with very impressive victories over Mercy 36-6 and Kennedy 30-6. The rest of the season these young men simply shot down victim after victim. Through the next three years if they can keep the Griffin spirit alive the future of Griffin football will be as bright as the past.
