Ring Day The Juniors, the class of '7-1, passed still another barrier in their four year stay at Vianney by receiving their Junior rings. At this point the Juniors could consider themselves the leaders ot' the school. Having received their rings from Bro. Chewning the Juniors headed home to prepare for the night's activities. The Ring Dance was an excellent conclusion to the day. Everyone present enjoyed the Holland decorations and the appropriate music of Birth. All in all, it was a splendid finale to the ring day and the junior year. did you see that! i ,- lv , 1- VV, F U . 4 ,N L 10 ' :Q X 5 Lf' 'Q :ii ' xx x . ,h 'Q l. U x Griffin Staff --s S ....L'ia9 The Griffin carried on its tradition as one of the best high school newspapers in the area by virtue of many returning staff members and a number of creative writers. Bro. R. Schrader lent a guiding hand, but the bulk of the work was turned out by the students. Scott Meier in the guise of a mild mannered reporter and his sidekick Oscar Groebl held down the positions of co-editors. Along with them, special editors, Mike Simpson, Tom Moder, Steve Ruzicki and Jim Schmiedeskamp spent many long hours working to make the deadlines in getting out the paper. The paper kept the student body informed of current events and sports around the school. The Griffin, utilized its right of freedom of the press to criticize where criticism was needed, but also tried to print only facts. -- f ,few lx- ' ,J Tom Moder Mike Simpson Scott Meier Oscar Groebl Steve Ruzicki Tim Nobel Jim Schmiedeskamp
