Once the weather cleared up, the May Festival again proved to be very successful and enjoyable. The Home and School Association, as it has done in the past, handled the booths and preparations for the festival. In addition to the traditional Ring-toss, hockey shoot, hole-in-one and others, something new was added. May Festival Better Than Ever Instead of a chicken dinner, a steak and potato dinner was offered. Judg- ing from the long lines waiting, the new idea was a tremendous success and delicious. ln the evening, the annual dance was held, featuring j'Festival. All in all, the 1973 May Festival was a grandiose success. The ring-toss. 444 Ili V , fiiisify mis. . .J ' - i A N ' X ox 7 4 4 ' 4 .1 A One of the more popular rides. Winter Carnival One of Vianney's most enjoyable and profitable traditions has become its Win- ter Carnival. The H772-73 Winter Carni- val, held on lfcbruary l7, was definitely one of the best ever, bringing in a profit of nearly 580000. This rather large profit naturally corresponds to many hours of work and planning by both students and faculty members, especially Bro. James Droste, this ycar's carnival faculty moder- ator. This ycar's Winter Carnival saw the return of many ofthe popular and always successful games such as the spear drop, coke poker, and roulette, but there were also many new and profitable games. These included the football toss, putting green, and hockey shoot fsponsored by the hockey team in ease you wondcredl. As has been the custom in past years, the homeroom which brought in the greatest profit in each division received a cash prize. Homeroom projects ranged from a movie to the ever popular balloon shave to a dance in the cafeteria. From the great profit that was made and the many students who enjoyed themselves on this evening, it is easy to see that the 1972-73 Winter Carnival was a smashing success. ,, 'ii 7' sift?
