This event took place on October l7th, on St. John foot- ball field. Joan Dirksen, was maid of honor, Ruth Moeller and Ruth Homan attendants, and Larry Thobe, crown bearer. The queen and her court came on the field in two con- vertibles, escorted by the Maria Stein American Legion. The cars were driven by Jerry Bruggeman and Bob Stueve. The queen was followed by St John Band. The band then pro- ceeded to the front of the St. John stands. Here it formed an SJ, and then SS in tribute to the queen, followed by a com- pany front before the queen and her court. The queen and her party then came out of the cars, where upon Captain Fred lmwalle crowned the queen, bestowing on her a kiss. The co-captain, Donald Thobe, presented the queen with a bouquet of flowers and also a kiss. Amateur The bond formed a stair- way and played Stairway to the Stars . The queen, es- corted by Captain Fred lmwalle, went up the stairs followed by Donald Thobe escorting Joan Dirksen, Tony Hausfeld escort- ing Ruth Moeller and Clem Homan escorting Ruth Homan.
