Here ls Leo Hartings Never known to worry He always likes to stop and chat, And is never in a hurry Martha Gast, so charming, A very studlous girl Has very pretty curls, And ls as lovely as a pearl A studlous lad is Eugene Imwalle, Always does his work so well As for his reward ln llfe Only time that can tell Donald Rindler, a jolly fellow Is St Iohn's football star In his future, we can see He'll surely go very far Shirley Fleck, the sports fan Attended every game Reporter for the team, She cheers them on to fame Paul Bills, the smallest of the class, Gets ideas quick as a flash Everyone seems to think, Someday he'll be ln the cash Here we have a boy from Chickasaw, Lester Bruns, his best he'll try He's not like most other boys For sometimes he s bashful and shy Donald Bertke, always happy, Likes to work as well as have fun Need some extra help? Call on Don, he's the one The merry one is Virginia Bruggeman She is a Senior wise As a secretary, I m sure she'd win a prize Then we have Richard Bruggeman Of whom I wish to tell a tale When you need assistance, His help to you will never fail Paul Thobe is very athletic, He s as slick as can be As a center on our basketball team From Cassella, we have Leon Vondrell Always tries to do his best But like most other boys Always finds time to rest. The happy go lucky one ls Elsie Mesche 'Ideas just flash into her mind She takes thing just as they come, And in school or anyplace ls always kind Our ambitious boy is Ralph Vehorn, Llkes to help work, lt's true Want any stencils run off? He ll do his best for you Eugene lzleltkamp, very friendly, Whether xt be at work or at play Always struggles to succeed And do his best everyday From Cassella, we have twins Ellen and Helen Pleiman, so fair In all classes and projects They do their work with care Now we have Ernest Heitkamp, Who never fails in his talk. Valedlctory Fellow members of the Class of 1952 It ls with mingled sentiments that we vxew ourselves for the last time as a class in this our final assembly At last, we have arrived at the goal, whxch four years ago seemed so lmmeasurably distant Upon its arrival, we feel an unexpected sadness, a genuine regret that the t1es of friendship binding us so closely in our work and in our recreation must now be broken, as our little band separ ates and its members take their respective ways to fame and fortune On such an occasion, complete happiness is impossible The pain of parting intrudes upon the joy of achievement the triumph of attalning a cherished goal Our years together have been happy and profitable We have learned much and our opportunities have been great We trust that throughout our entire hves, we shall remember and practlve the 1deals of our school and, according to our varxed talents and abilltxes, do our best each day Dear Parents, we can not thank or repay you enough for the many opportunities you have given us We smcerely appreciate everything you have done for us We shall try to repay you for the many sacriflces you have made for us May God bless you for xt Our association through the four years has been very pleasant, and its partmg IS the only cloud on our happiness ln achievement We sincerely appreciate the advantages for study that have been of our ability Under the kind direction of our principal, Mr O'Grady, and the skxlled leadership of our instruc tors, we have finished the work prescribed for us and tonight are to be graduated To those instructors we are deeply grateful for their sympathetlc lnterest and understanding May we bring credit upon your training To our teachers, we say a grateful farewell and may God bless you In saymg farewell to our friends, the undergraduates, we wish to add a note of warning It is an honorable position to which you are advancmg for to be the Senior Class requires leadership, good example, and responslbxllty We wish you good luck We also hope you will remember us sometimes while passing through the halls or while you are out on the school campus And now, fellow members of the graduatmg class, we, too, must part This is our last appearance as a class After tonight, we shall go our separate ways, but though tlme and space may divide us shall always be joined in heart and spirit, and the memories of our days in St John High will always be cherished May good fortune attend us, and may we remember that the training we have received is but a preparation for our future life We reallze that the goal for whxch we have worked ls here, but, with this occasion comes the necessity of parting Friends, may you recall only our virtues, forgetting our faults, a.nd may the future years bring you nothing but kind recollections of those who now b1d you 'Good bye 28 placed at our disposal by the Board of Education, and we trust that we have used them to the utmost 1 7 .
