His guiding ways and cooperative spirit have truly marked him as a soldier of God. To you Father Coyle the graduating class of 1954 wish to express their most sin- cere thanks and gratitude for the help you gave and the confidence you showed in us. ASSISTA TS w I REVEREND FATHER FRANCIS MURRAY Father Murray began his seminary days at St. Joseph's Grand Rapids. Then he was transferred to Sacred Heart at Detroit, later moved to Mount St. Mary, Cincinnati, and finally finished at St. John's, Plymouth, Michigan. His day of ordination was June 2nd, 1951. His first assignment on August, 1951 was at St. John's of Jackson where his friendly manner has warmed the hearts of everyone. The Freshmen and Junior classes have benefited by his weekly instructions in their religion classes. Father Murray's winning personality and love of fun are shared by all his friends at St. John'S. REVEREND FATHER CLARENCE WOOD Born at Flint, Michigan, Father Wood obtained his education at St. Mary School. His priestly studies were begun at Sacred Heart Seminary, Detroit, and finished at Mount St. Mary in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was ordained May 30th, 1947, Father Wood arrived in Jackson in November of 1948. The Sophomores and Seniors have since then been instructed by him in religion. These classes have provided great satis- faction and knowledge. Father Wood's spirited ways and clever manner are manifested by his never-ending interest in the schools welfare.
