Coach Hannigan And Coach Haller ORTUNATE indeed has been Saint ohn High School in having such splendid men as Emmett Hannigan and William D Haller to lead IIS athletes to victory One would have to search far and wide to find better examples of Catholic manhood than one finds in these two coaches In saying this we pay the highest tribute possible to them both of the Fighting Irish Behind the successful football season is the story of his firm determination to make his team the best in the state This meant that there had to be solid hours of drilling and concentrating on the fundamentals of tackling and blocking It meant that the team must master new plays Coach Hannigan used extra time and energy unsparingly in his efforts to malce the Fighting Irish the Winning Trish The future loolcs bright for Saint ohn s football squad be cause of its leaders rigorous perstvering and successful en deavors to boost the morale of the team Saint ohns basketball team was ably coached by Mr Haller affectionately calltd Bill That the team rated among the best in the ranks of New Hampshires Class B baslcet tossers and attended both the New Hampshire State Tournament and the Catholic New England Tournament argues well for the excellent training it received. Again we realize that this years victories would not have been ours if we had not had a coach with resolute hghting Trish spirit to match that of the Fighting Trish team. In the name of the pupils of Saint ohn High School the Graduates of 1945 wish to thanlc Coach Hannigan and Coach Haller for the valuable assistance they gave the school in the field of athletics. We hope that many future teams will have the opportunity of being trained by these two men who have deservingly won the friendship and respect of our players.
