The city's the- aters at night once again proved that Shakespeare, Sheridan and Shaw could quicken the imagina- tion and emotions. An evening with the York Herald at The Col- lege of Arms made us appreciate the English sense of tradition as well as better to understand some of the origins of our own culture and its government. Too soon it was time to quit London for the country and two weeks of sight seeing by private coach. Chaucer's Canterbury, Jane Aus- tin's Winchester, Stonehenge, Salisbury, I-Iardy's Wessex, Ar- thurian Cornwall and Wales, Bath, Oxford and Stratford-upon- Avon delighted the mindl and the eye in its particular way. Not un- like those other pilgrims to Can- terbury, each of us returned with his own tale to tell. li rl' an lm! til-W ,WNY f-14. 5 , - .4 it l 1 f I S, A Qu? v' 5, . uf! r,,. xx X .,ii?E. ,, fi n I ' 'qwffarl K s , rg., 0 x'9k n I t S. 4 -mar 'W fr' ,sv-' 1:1 iff sing 5, 'vvwf'-.fi -, , fi A Jia., f:f'1l'V' ' ,Q-4, ,- rf X r .I , . ,, ,- p,., 'l , J . fr .
