Senior boys also are beginning to see the value ot typing, at least for personal use in college, A Bright Future in the Business World Business Efficiency . . . at SJC, students are offered courses that will enable them to become efficient office personnel. Students of Cantius are much in demand for they work hard to attain mastery of fundamen- tals, improve skills, and complete an ex- tensive course in business training. Beverly Stachowslci consults with Bernacline Fer- neza as to the accuracy of some figures. Geraldine Pasciak, Janet Nasiatlca, and Pat Coleman also oper- ate calculators. Pat Zuma draws one on the board, while Geri Daum explains the form to Frank Jogan. Patricia Loughner found a copy of one in her book. lt looks as if Pat Brunswick is pretty puzzled over what to do with that extra column in the journal, John Kuzrna ques- tions his forms but James Bolek is undisturbed. The book- keeping class does some journal recording and posting to the ledger, Ink-blotting, paper-tearing, hands speeding . . , that's a Senior class trying to take short- hand at cz breokneck speed of lOO wpm. Success? Well . . . Pat Sotak obtains experience in dictating at that tempo.

Work does not degrade, it uplifts a person, and if the study of how man can achieve the greatest use of God's gifts through manual labor, then teaching is jus- tified. Cantius offers the boys subjects which will have the most practical use for them.
