Bosco Homecoming One Wild and Crazy Week The activities and special effects of Homecoming Week really boosted school spirit. The Juniors won the arm wrestling contest using strong man Vic Paredes. The Seniors breezed past the Freshmen in the push-a-bug race but the Frosh got revenge by toppling the Seniors in the tug-o-war. The highlight of the week was the rally on Friday. Everyone was riled up and feeling rowdy. lt was costume day and a few of the Seniors got into the spirit by wearing togas. These phony Ftomans and their friends, although outnumbered, won the class competition and presented the spirit stick to the football team. The Seniors then ended the rally by marching out with the team. The day of Homecoming was rainy, causing ASB President Jim Colozzo to squirm at the thought of his carefully laid plans going down the drain. By game time the rain had stopped but the Braves rolled on to lead arch-rival St. Anthony's 10-7 at halftime. The Halftime activities opened with a football helmet tearing around the track, followed by the past and present yell leaders riding on a sail- boat. The Homecoming Court candidates and their escorts followed atop custom Corvettes. Without warning, the choice of Donna Evans as Queen was announced. At this a fireworks displaywas lit and bal- loons filled the air. The court and the whole stadium then watched an aggres- sive Bosco team defeat St. Anthony's for th7e genth consecutive time by a score of t - . 1. John Oetken, Tom Engle and Ed McGinn defeat the Juniors while Chuck Rivers offers vocal support 2. Flick Villa and Brian Kennedy push Mark Bruawskl's bug past the Juniors 3. George O'Gor- man and Vic Paredes go at ii. 4. Joe Guzman pow- ered by Louie Casas. 5. Frosh explode after rug-o- war upset ol the Seniors 6.
