41 'SUE' Feast DaY Bishop Moreno Visits soo For the Feast of Saint John Bosco, Bishop Manuel Moreno was invited to celebrate Mass and give a talk to the student body. ln his talk, the bishop spoke of how Saint John Bosco was a special inspiration to him because of his work with youth. He then went on to explain that his parents and grandparents also admired Saint John Bosco and taught Bishop Moreno about our beloved Saint. The bishop than reached the lesson of his talk, which was to help the students remember their relationship with their fellow man. To do this, he told the story of the Maestro, or teacher, One day a certain teacher gathered all ot his stu- dents' together to test them. The maestro asked only one question: ifwhen can you say that night is over and day has begun? The first stu- dent said, Night is over when you can see a tree and tell that it is not a palm, but a fig tree. A second student guessed, Night is over and day has begun when you can see an animal and tell that it is a horse and not a camel. To both of these answers the maestro said, They are very good, but incorrect. The way you can tell that night is over and day has begun is when you see something in the dark and you can tell that it is your brother or sister. Then there is enough light to say that night is over and day has begun. His Eminence then saidgthet God is our light by which we can see our brothers and sisters. The main the bishop said, with getting isyit as their brothers and sisters, iisgiihatffeligioni cannot be transmit- ted. Religion isapsrsonal thing and cannot be taught upon past experience like English or math. Each person is different and therefore must experience reiigion for himseii and be brave enough not to walk in darkness, but rather in light. 1. Fr. Presenti, Deacon Montes, Bishop Moreno and Fr. Liberati conceiebrate the student body Mass. 2. ASB reqpresentatives Pat Bay, Andy Sig- ney and Fred ubtio read the entrance proces- sion. 3. John Schufta, Mike Dowel! and Bro.
