Each year the yearbook is dedicated to an individual to whom the students of St. John Bosco feel they owe a very special thanks. The individual selected this year in the academic community is held in the highest possible regard by his students and peers. As a teacher, coach, counselor, and most of all, as a friend, he possesses a unique combination of dedication, personality, ability to teach and the ability to relate to the students as individuals. With these qualities in mind, we dedicate this book to Mr. James Cross. Mr. Cross is an integral part of St. John Bosco. He is considered by his students to be an excellent teacher, making English fun and interesting. He has taken time to moderate clubs and organizations, to coach, and to act as dean and counselor. He is never too busy to help students with their class materialg to put the extra effort into his teams, to help his students with personal problems, or even to spend his free time writing letters of recommendation for seniors applying to college. KC' The theme of the 1978 Brave is Focus on the Future. This futuristic aspect can be reflected in all areas of our high school lifestyle. Bosco students attend classes which will prepare them for college or a particular career. Some participate in athletics hoping for possible future scholarships. Coaches look forward to upcoming games and seasons. Teachers plan exams, classes, and lectures for weeks to come. Even through everyday planning and looking ahead to special occasions, we are focusing on the future.
