...M-E. W St. Jerome's again returned to the air- ways this year, presenting three outstand- ing and fun-filled productions. This was the second year for the Radio Workshop to a ppear on Station C. K. C. R. , giving Art Students the opportunity to display their a cting abilities to the populus of Kitchener. The first of these plays was presented in November when the adaptation of Julius Caesar was broadcast. It was enthusiastic- ally received. The second playlfollowed along the same lines. Indeed, those words were well personified by the Debating Society during the past school year. Vernacular in the Liturgy, Preventive War, Socialized Medicine, and Foreign Policy were among the questions which were debated. Itiwould be almost impossible to decide which one of the topics received the most response among the students, faculty and guests. This year, the Debating Society achieved its first aim, to arouse interest in contemporary issues. The fruition of this aim afforded a great impetus for the fulfillment of the intellectual and cultural endeavours of the Francis Kelley Club. Richard Konkel, Pre sident g PRESENTATION RE BUTAL 59

Well over two hundred students lined up in honor of the Irish. Preceded by nothing less than a replica of Mc Namara's band, the column poured forth from the School and headed south . The cymbals clanged and the drums went bang, and the music was something grand. Every single soul was wearing the green and the leaders in green cutaways and top-hats, would have reminded you of Jimmy Walker proudly strutting down Fifth Ave. The parade snarled traffic on King Street for a while and then it con- tinued alon th g , e less busy streets until the marches disbanded and were off to other celebrations.
