new dh his Happy High School Hay Riders There was one social activity sponsored by the Sodality during Lent, which all will remember - the hay ride, held Saturday evening, March lhth. Three wagons were crowded with young couples from St. Mary's and St. Jerome's - even some of the faculty members came along for the ride. After about two hours in the fresh air, the cold and hungry hay riders trailed into a nearby restaurant for a small, warm lunch. The evening's fun ended as they boarded the street-car and escorted the irls home d 0 0 0 ,UMOTI s5,.f 255101-55. .3 if .im -QF 45 Tom Moser figuratively twists another arm 2gpe ' 1 ' A - for the Missions. The place will be St. Jerome's Gym, and we have high hopes of importing an orchestra from Hamilton to provide the calls and the music. We are trying to bring in a group of square dancers from Preston to teach the students the different variations of the square dance so that the evening will prove more interesting for them. The dances of previous years were a great success - we feel certain that this one will outdo them all. 5'.Dnma Somewhere around April 15th the Sodality will present the highlight of the year, the Sodality Dance. This will mark the close of the year's activities so attendance should set a record - we certainly are all out to make it a success, and to provide a suitable finale it activit is wr'tten.

Soclolilg 'Recepfion December 8th saw many new Sodalists received into the Sodality of Our Lady. This was a memorable day for all concerned. We know that Our Lady was pleased with us and will rem- ember her followers for their devotion when trials and temptations come. The ceremonies were held in St. Mary's Church where Father Sobisch, our Director, received the new mem- bers. O N5 0+ Father Sobisch enrolls new Sodalists M' A- R. After the excitement of the game, the spectators took over the floor and enjoyed dancing to music supplied by the recordings of the Athletic Department. Mardi Gros X L Q A lx -:a-'?L1- . This project, although sponsored by the girls of St. Mary's High School is looked on with interest by St. Jerome's Sodality for the simple reason that the Sodality is the only organization in the school in a position to promote our end of it. At this year's dance all attendance records were equalled, if not broken - St, Mary's deserve congratulations for its success. Last year's regal couple, Frank Nowak and Maureen Meinzinger presented the crowns to the new king and queen, Anthony VanHee and Carol Hummel. This was the last of social activities before the Lenten season.

The purpose of this Fraternity is to foster social and recreational activities for the students of the High School Department of St. Jerome's College. Sigma Iota Kappa promotes many student activities during the course of the school year. A few of the more outstanding of these are recorded in the following pages, but space does not permit a complete description. The benefits offered by the Fraternity do not end when a student leaves the school, since an honorary membership is conferred upon all active members who graduate or discon- tinue their studies at St. Jerome's College. The officers for the current year are: President: Anthony VanHee, Scotland, Ontario. Secretary: John Reinhardt, Stratford, Ontario. Treasurer: Bernard Weber, Detroit, Michigan. The office of moderator is capably filled by the disciplinarian, Brother John Traynor. Sigma Iota Kappa has been a powerful asset to the boarders of St. Jerome's College, and will continue to carry on its invaluable services in the many school years to come at St. Jerome's.
