Joyiortheworld While the elder mem- bers of the parish were preparing the beautiful Mass, the afternoon tea and reception, and later, the excellent banquet which highlighted the celebration of our Golden Jubilee, the students were likewise making ready for their small contribution to the fes- tivities. Accordingly, on the evening of October twelfth and following upon the joy of a wonderful parish banquet, we presented Joy for the World, a pageant in honor of Mary written by Father Daniel A. Lord, S. J. Joy for the World is a colorful dramatization in dialogue, pan- tomime, and song of the triumph of Mary over our Adversary, the devil. The victory, predicted by the Almighty at the dawn of time and described for us step by step in the dialogue between Gabriel and the Adversary, begins at the Annunciation when, by consenting freely to the dignity of Christian womanhood intended for her from the beginning by the Creator. As we follow Mary through scene after scene of her life and that of her Divine Son, we become more and more convinced that it is her powerful intercession that keeps the evil one in chains.
