Shattuck Wrestling COACH - Larry Harn CAPTAIN - Tim Hanscom Shattuck Deaf School Shattuck Randolph Shattuck Rosemount Baptist Shattuck Randolph Shattuck Breck Shattuck Concordia Shattuck Mazeppa Shattuck Rosemount Baptist Shattuck's team of eight regulars played a 12-man sport, and since a forfeit Costs 6 points, every match started with a sizable handicap. Undaunted, the Red grapplers managed to win two meets and suffered narrow defeats in two more. Captain Tim Hanscom, 119 lb. sophomore, won every match during the season. Terry Kloeckl and Art Quiggle took seconds in the conference meet. Hanscom got the Perkins MVP trophy, and Likovich won Most-Improved. Hanscom and Kloeckl are next year's captains. SMH Basketball COACHES - james Catterall and Bobbi Sumner. CAPTAINS - Allison Dyer and Corrine Wanstall. St. Mary's basketball outshone all of the boys' winter teams by bringing home the Centennial championship. With an 8-1 conference record Q12-4 overallj, the Saints could boast their best season ever since Coach Bobbi Sumner organized the team in 1971. Several of the victories were overwhelming - like 73-13 over Randolph. Not surprisingly, three of the Saints made All-Conference - Kathy Boentje, Allison Dyer, and Corrine Wanstall. Kathy was top scorer. She and Katie Haralson are to be captains of next year's team. Corrine was named Most-Valuable Player. The I-V team was inexperienced, so theirs was a building year - but they did defeat the Deaf School twice.
