Sllathltk 56 Waterville The Shads got off to a slow start, rested during Christmas while their competition practiced, and mostly spun their wheels afterwards. Coach Ion Freeman kept predicting a late-season comeback, but it didn't materialize. There was one thriller though - Big Red beat Waterville by a single point in double overtime. Newboy Senior Tyrone Artis was top scorer with 242, followed by Riordan 12041. Tyrone also was named MVP and All-Conference. Cobb and Riordan were Co-captains. St. James The Iamies' record was a heartbreaking 0-6, but Coach George Wadsworth felt that the Little Blue made real progress during the season. Larry Evans was elected MVP and Jamie Granger got Most- Improved. Some were inexperienced. The team lacked depth - there were only two skate-able lines. Still, it wasn't a bad season . . . The first line of Dan Swenson, Mark Wolner, and Randy Higgins - all underformers - K 41 - ma. and 17 goals respectively. Senior Tom Evans and Freshman Rodney Kern shared goal-tending duties.
