Mr. Ball Retires After Forty-One Years of Service. Mr. Ball: We of the Saintonian are taking this opportunity to speak for the faculty and students of our school system. We are proud to have had you in our school system as a teacher and co-worker for twenty-seven of your forty-one years in education. The Saintonian and the Saints Reporter are greatful for your work in the con- cessions stand. We will all miss your now-famous quote The only thing free is advice! And all of us in school will miss: your English class, your work with declam, your Homecoming plans, your coffee in the lounge and office, your help in planning welcome and farewell addresses, your master key when we forgot our own, your invitations to Rotary Club, your great work in athletics, your interest in drama, your councilling to us, our parents (grandparents too?), For the many little things you’ve done, usually unrecognized, that make a fine school better, we can simply say THANK YOU, and dedicate this edition of the Saintonian to you. The best of luck in the future. 6
