To start our exciting sophomore year our class chose Charles Owens as president, Mary Sedam as vice president, Jane Rude as secretary and Peter Krause as treasurer . . . Our class members participated in quite a few of the sports this year. Pour boys dressed for the vari- sity squad in basketball and five boys went out for tennis . . . There to cheer the boys on were three cheerleaders from our class, Sue Enge, Norma Saunders, and Joyce Mishler . . . The homecoming attendants were the very attrac- tive Karen Curry and the very appealing Gary Lunz Two new names were added to our attendance list; Dick Nelson, from Blue Earth, and Bill Thomas, from Pipestone, who became a member of the B squad basketball team. . . Nine girls were chosen to work on The Saints Re- porter Staff for the next year. Two boys also were active staff members . . . We are very happy and proud to say that we ac- complished winning first prize on our homecoming float, and we arrived on time for the parade, too . . To keep things going we had a few parties. Barb Butzlaff had a New Year's Eve party with a supply of the customary mistletoe . . . Wes Oglesbee had a party after an ice skating get- together. We all danced and ate to our hearts' con tent . . . We realize we are in the testing ground and the years to come will prove what die class is made of. We realize work comes first but like the phrase so often heard in school, you can't beat funl 16
