FRESHMAN CIASS OFFICERS: B. Warner - Pres., C. Broughton - Sec., L. Jensen - Treas. What a year this has been! To start things off, we e- lected as our class officers: Bruce Warner, President; Carmen Broughton, Secretary and Lorraine Jensen, Treasurer . . . For Homecoming this year we chose Marlene Larson and Jim Warling as attendants. We were very proud o ourselves when we took second on our float. Almost every one of our boys was out for some sport this year. We were told that by the fall of 1957 they will be Warner, W. Kuyper, J. Rognlie, C. Sorensen, D. Kuehl, R. Tighe, T. Running, C. Bruder, D. Schiller, M. Lade, B. Waldheim. ROW 4: M. Torkelson, G. Wolner, G. Spitzner, D. Jensen, R. Stamp, P. Zender, C. Sanns, R. Hoppe, J. Sandmeyer, J. Warling, L. Schroeder, D. Stradtman. able to go out for Cross-Country also . . . FHA and GAA attracted the girls. Several girls are working on their degrees in FHA . . . Christmas this year was one we won't forget. As you walked down our narrow and packed hall, you could always plan on hearing a shriek coming from some unsuspecting girl that one of our holiday minded boys caught under the mistletoe. Another scream would follow, this time it was Miss Rodness receiving one of four corsages. Having a Birthday so close to Christmas was fun for Miss Rodness and her English classes. (Wonder if she plays with the cars she received as Birthday presents?) The Semi-Formal was a great thrill for all of us, five of our class members got on next year's Saints Repor- ter Staff. They included Nona Veith, Tom Running, Chris Cole, Slyvia Wagner, and Dorothy Stradtman. As all freshmen, we love parties. We had a Sock- Hop, and Roller Skating party which some of us very painfully remember. Despite the spills wc are still game for more . . . Our freshman year was wonderful, but we are still looking forward to becoming Sophomores next year . . 13
