not be forgotten As sophomores we are now in the middle of our high school life and are starting to plan and prepare for the future. . .Our first year in senior high proved to be a successful one. . .All 112 of us made our presence known, for there was never a dull moment. . . To start with, Marilyn Henderson, Kathleen Moody, and Marlys Stern- berg, were chosen as class officers . . .Janice Engdahl and Charles Dex- heimer represented our class in the royal party for Homecoming. . .Re- member our float that the wind almost blewaway ?. . .Our own cheerleaders, Marilyn Munson and Joanne Running, both did a fine job. . .Several of us volunteered our services to sopho- more mixed chorus, and a few to girls' glee club, band, swing band. . .Quar- tets also kept some of us on the go Quite a few of our boys participated in FFA and we were well represented in football, basketball, and wrestling . . .Tumbling and trampoline are other extra curricular activities that we participated in. . .In declam our efforts were put forth by memorizing pieces ranging from humorous to dra- matic. . .Who could ever forget those English classes. . .For some reason the re we re people who had to sit in the back of the room. . .On Monday we would set our minds on thinking of the right words to complete the Prizeword Puzzle Contest. . .A history class with 20 boys doesn't happen every year either . . . Learn those theorems, draw a quadrilateral, define the mean- ing of hypotenuse, were some of the phrases you would hear in our geom- etry class, and then we sophomores thought Mr. Esse was picking on us. . . Remember the fun we had dissecting animals in biology class, and those long assignments that we got from the the practice teacher, Mr. Traxler. . . We also looked forward to seeing if anything new had been added to the aquarium in Mr. Haws' room. . .Speed tests and drills kept us busy in typing . . .The art of seeing whose carriage could go the fastest and farthest was a familiar sight each day in class. . . In phy. ed. classes we could, show some of our youthful exuberance. . . Spring came, as did the prom, at which some of us were waitresses and wait- ers. . .And then you guessed it. . .final tests. . .And now look? We're Juniors. SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS: Kathleen Moody. Vice President; Mr. Wetzel, Advisor; Marlys Sternberg, Secretary-Treasurer; Marilyn Henderson, President. 27
