As usual the Sr. Jacob F,F,A. Chapter had a very active year. The chapter held two regular meetings during the summer and two meetings a month during the school year. We purchased all items necessary to conduct the meetings with our chapter funds. We were able to obtain these funds through the sales of Christmas cards, screwdrivers, hog troughs, and calendar ads. On October 15, five freshman boys became Greenhands and on November 27 be- came Chapter Farmers. On February 10, we were host to the Troy chapter in a joint party. A pest contest was held during the winter months and a party was given to the win- ning team by the losing team. Ice cream and cake was enjoyed by all attending. In the spring, we secured multi-flora rose and pine trees for members and farmers in this area. On May 7, 1958, the annual Parent-Son Banquet was held in the school cafeteria and gym. The boys' mothers and several high school girls cooked and served the meal, The awards for the year's accomplishments were made. Snaps of the banquet and pro- gram are on the next page. This is a small summary of the activities of those busy F, F. A, members. They are, truly, the Future Farmers of America! Compliments of GIBSON GALEENER CO. St. Jacob, Illinois
