In its 75 years of existence, Ignatius has undergone quite an academic change to meet the changing conditions. The school now offers advanced placement courses in history and English, a new Physics course, typing, biology. An indication of the success of these academic standards is the fact that 96% of the graduates, a figure unsurpassed by any other school, go on to college each year, and many of these join the professions. In the National Merit Scholarship examination, Ignatius averages 20 finalists each year. This is far above most other schools. Also, about 24 graduating seniors receive scholarships every year as a reward for their excellent record at Ignatius. New addition to Ignatiu : typing room end teacher, Mr. McNamara.
