It was surprisingly fun. I liked how many people got into (the theme) and their costumes. - Joesph Miller It was just basically a new experience for me - to dance like they did in the 50s... that's what made it the most fun... none of us knew what we were doing, but tried anyways. - Megan Lau I thought it was really cool how the student government took a risk in having a live band. I feel like the students reacted really well to it and Henry DJ'ing in between did an awesome job of mixing things up. - Conor Lane 'Easily one of the best dances SI has seen in a long time! Kevin O'Connor

Thanks to our student council, SI had its first ever Homecoming dance! This is one of the first times in the past four years that an SI school dance has sold out. Many people even had to beg the deans to get in! The theme? truly felt like we were going back to a sock hop. With Jack Singer's car outside, people got their first impression of how the night was going to go down. All of the cool cats who attended dressed up in the theme - poodle skirts, leather jackets, and hair ribbons - to show their support and enthusiasm. It was a memorable night resounding with hits (played by a live band!!) from artists like Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Chubby Checker. And every so often, we flashed forward and heard some popular hits from our own DJ, Henry Lerdal. To put it simply, the dance was a HUGE SUCCESS! Here's to hoping that next year's dance will be as amazing as 2010's!! 1 1. The live band that played all of the 50s classics. 2. Kevin O'Connor crowd surfs. 3. In spirit of the Giants, the SI Student Council held a Giants Night in the gym where Game 2 of the World Series was shown live. On this night, October 28th, the Giants swept the Texas Rangers in a 9-0 victory. This night was spectacular all around! Now who would have thought that the San Francisco Giants would have ever made it to the Playoffs let alone win the World Series. This team of misfits truly proved everyone wrong especially when they dominated the playoffs. Then came the World Series. They scraped them in only 5 games. Between Uribe, Posey, Lincecum, Renteria, Wilson, Huff, Torres, Burrell, and everyone in between, the Giants were able to defeat their opponents in postseason. When the Giants came back from the final win of the World Series in Texas there was a parade downtown, that many SI students attended. Go Giants! 12
