Getting Involved Art and Pub, Music for Others, Martial Arts, and Teen Angel are all about getting involved in the school community. The posters seen around school for upcoming events such as athletic events and dances are made by Art and Pub. Club member Molly Kodros explains her interest: I knew what was going on and I met new people.” The colorful club adds unity to the SI community. As well as becoming involved at SI, students in Music for Others bring entertainment to retirement homes. By getting involved, students in Martial Arts are able to meet peers also interested in that subject. Sophomores and freshmen in Teen Angel raise funds for different causes, including trying to sell enough raffle tickets for a gift basket to help the SI garden. Patricia Go said, Even though there are more freshmen than sophomores, we all got to know each other. We just want to do good. Being in each of these clubs allows students to meet new people and help the community. Pictured above is Loretta Roddy painting a poster for the Turkey Trot. Getting Initiated Students at St. Ignatius can get involved in nearly everything, but if for some reason someone has an interest that is not represented at SI, he or she has the ability to start something new. This year a number of students felt that the SI community lacked something, so they took the initiative and created new clubs. The Armenian Club, The Conservative Students Coalition, St. Ignatius Live, and The Video Game Club were all newly established this year. Their founders drafted club constitutions, asked for approval by Student Council, were reviewed, and if accepted will function as probationary clubs for the next two years. If successful, in 2005 these new clubs will be full-fledged members of Student Council. These four new clubs prove that if something isn't available at SI, someone will make it so.
