Santa Claus actually at the Christmas dance? No, it's just Pat Downs clad in a jolly Santa suit. Considering how stuffy the Commons was, he must have suffocated! Standing poised as any proper Navy sailor should, Dan Melia locks arms with girlfriend Kayt Solso. The two waited in a relatively short line to take their pictures. What Did You Think About the Dance? “The Polygons were most satisfactory. Sal is my hero. Mario and Paul, too, I guess. - Melissa Mariano The music was acceptable for a 3rd grade party.” - Mike Peroutka Considering it was my first Christmas dance, it was okay but pretty disappointing. - Katrina Yupangco All smiles, Kristina Kirchgessner and Kimi Lew look great on the packed dance floor. Despite the angst of attending their first Christmas Dance, the freshmen enjoyed the four-hour event. Christmas Dance

Celebrating. Years Looking totally rad, Bo’s punks Allison Duncan, Ian Wright, and Katie Lawson smile wide. The trio returned to the decade of Back to the Future movies and big hair rock bands. Congregating in the hall, Aaron Dann- Gibbs, Greg Ginotti, lisa hike, Will Syme, and Anna Lund have just finished taking their pictures. Wild sophomores Ian Del Castillo, Greg Malinan, and Neil Johnstone have fun on the dance floor. Their dance moves were just a few-of the many interesting ones seen that evening. Couple David Hubbcl and Maria DeGaetano dance to a slow song during the evening. Some people wished that the DJ would have played more slow music during the dance. Christmas Dance

At SI, we often take time out of our busy schedules to reflect and develop our spiritual selves. These times include Friday Morning Liturgy, Reconciliation, class liturgies, and the larger school masses. During the 148th Mass of the Holy Spirit, the Student Body’s first school mass together, Fr. Goethals explained the year’s theme: Choosing to Love. The Gospel incorporated this idea of loving one another and also drew on individual experiences post-September 11th. In his homily, Fr. Goethals reaffirmed Jesus’ words to “love one another as I have loved you. Ultimately, as Fr. Goethals explained, “We have a choice. We can choose to be destructive or we can choose to love.” This year is all about choosing to love. Before this year’s Thanksgiving Liturgy, the Liturgical Committee asked us to write on Post-It notes all the things for which we were thankful. Sure, we had the typical stuff: family, friends, home, clothes, food... but we’re also thankful for things like Harry Potter and James Bond. We’re thankful—perhaps today more than ever—for our freedom and our liberties. These Post-It notes later decorated the Thanksgiving trees as leaves. The Thanksgiving trees stood behind the altar and were symbols of our unity as a Student Body and of our faith as a spiritual community. Throughout this school year, we have learned the importance of choosing to love and being thankful for life’s many blessings. Hopefully this year’s love will continue for many years. Rarina Capulong and Veronica Esmero dance up the aisle at the Mass of the Holy Spirit. The dancers helped introduce the Mass and presented the gifts to Fr. Sauer. Fr. Sauer, as the principal celebrant, consecrates the Eucharist during the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Si's eleven other resident Jesuits aided in the celebration. Choosing 'love Campus Ministry
