The one thing found more noticeably in these activities than in others is our school spirit. When the girls of the student government pledge themselves to uphold the ideals of St. Hubert's and to help us do the same-that's school spirit. When long months of rehearsing precede every presentation of a play and every performance of the musicale-that's school spirit. When busy after-school hours are spent in work on school publica- tions-that's school spirit. When the team, the cheerleaders, and the spectators exhibit enthusi- asm at every game-thot's school spirit. Such activities also increase our poise and social grace and prepare us to take our places efficiently and graciously in modern democratic society. We are given many opportunities here at St. Hubert's so that our social and cultural development may expand with our participation in and appreciation of our extra-curricular activities.

Following the fine traditions and active school spirit char- acteristic of St. Hubert's, outstanding students carry on the work of our present Student Council. It is composed of eager, loyal, and well-deserving girls, who are elected by the student body and approved by the faculty. The chief duties of the councilors are to maintain order in the school, to assist at special functions, and to represent our school on various occasions. MARKS OF DISTINCTION-Father Simons distributes the badges of office to student councilors, homeroom representatives and associates, officers of the A. A. Board, captain of the ushers, editors of school publications, and co-concertmeisters during Installation Day ceremonies in the auditorium. The student body and the members of the orchestra are on hand for the program which closes with the singing of the school song. l
