This is the first edition of the CARILLON, the memory book. For years the graduat- ing classes hoped for an annual, but it seems they were not as fortunate as we, but their dreams have become our reality. Four years ago, a group of arnbitious seniors mimeogxraphe an annual, leaving spaces in whic to paste snaps. This simple but memory-filled annual had CARILLON as its title. It was agreed to retain that title for the fir st printed annual, and all those that follow here at Saint Henry. This title, CARILLON, has a melodious sound, a joyous sound. What does itmean? It designates a set of bells expressing emo- tions and announcing events. What could be more fitting for a book relating the laugh- ter and tears, the joys and sorrows of our high school days! Business managers Mildred Thaman, Joyce Alcorn, Pat Wilmhoff, Harry Lahm, and Richards Sirnms collected subscriptions and sought out patrons.

PDO A KING, QUEEMAN ' ATTI? IS Deloris Ralenkotter, Rae Jo Ralenkotter, Frances Arens, Queen Mildred Thaman, King Jack Dorsey, Tony Hayden, Jack Frisch, and John Moffitt. Happy hearts beat high the evening of April Z1 as seniors and juniors passed through a low stone wall into an Enchanted Garden. A grassy walk, palms, and flowers transformed the gym. The basketball baskets had been changed into hang- ing baskets- of flowers. Fitting background for the orchestra was the drapes of silver and aqua, class colors of the seniors. After the Grand March, the King and Queenmounteda silver throne, wreathed with flowers, to be crowned sovereigns of the 1950 Prom.
