SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Freshman Reception The Receptlon was held on Frlday November 1 1995 Due to the fact that Hallow en was so near decorations were carrred out accord lngly w1th pumplcrns w1tches cats and everytlung else that goes to make a Halloween party the real thrng The earller part of the evenxng was sp nt 1n plavmg games for th b neht of those Freshmen who drdnt care to dance Those that cared to trlp the lrghr fantastxc danced the remalnder of the venwng to the snappy ITILISIC of oe and Rachel All rn all It was a swell party Freshman Return After much d1scuss1on as to whether the Freshmen would be allowed a Return xt was Hnally dectded by Mr Creary that they b granted the prrvrlege The assembly hall was decorated rn ladders umbrellas and black cats wrth tht large numeral thlrteen placed at the head of the hall Th evenlng was spent IH dancmg wxth Rachel and oe actrng as chref syncopators Though the evenrng party Pay Dance On the evenxng of anuary 24 1936 after a vxctorrous battle for the Scunts agarnst Cahstoga s basketball team a pay dance was held An admxsslon of twenty hve cents was charged the proceeds of whmch were used to purchase sweat sh rts for the Varslty baslcetball squad The party was such a success and everyone conducted hlmself so well that If was declded we would be allowed anoth r such dance 1n Aprrl St Patrlck s Dance Much to the surpr1se and pleasure of all the students they were granted an extra dance not llsted on the socxal program St Patrrclcs nlght was chos n for the OCCHSIOU The dance was held just for studen s and frrends each student bemg allowed to 1nv1te one person The hall was cleverly decorated ln green and wh1te The words St Patrlclc were cut from green crepe paper and placed at the head of the hall Four leaf clovers high hats and PIPCS were also cut from green crepe paper and placed about the walls Th1s dance proved to be the hut of the vear and the audltorrum never looked more attractxve pull . . , 7 9 ' D .
