record. The team continued its torrid pace when in the Fordham Relays lid Murphy 5' l I , Mayo Smith 5' S , and Mike Marino 4' 9 jumped their way to lst place and carried back to St. Helenas its first track trophy. ln the Bronx-Manhattan and Westchester meet Ed Murphy show- ed his skill once more by copping lst place with a jump of 5' 9 . Also in the B. M. VU. Tom McKinley strided, with relative ease, to lst place medal in the junior 880 yard run. V. Poisella, F. Fata, W. Caldwell and M. Diomede took 2nd place in the open division of the one mile relay in the Bronx-Manhattan and NX'estchester track meet and in the selfsame meet a midget four lap relay team consisting of Mike Marino, Frank Quattromani, Tom Clarke and Tom Farrelly grabbed off bronze Std place medals. This well- coached St. I-Ielena's team has proved to be very strong competition and promises to be even stronger in the forth- coming season. The team owes much of its success to the hard work and skill of the coach Mr. Matthew Skea and to the track moderator Bro. Anthony Dominic, cross-country season, and Bro. Peter Michael, indoor track season. low 1: Left to Right: Bro. Peter, NI. Austin, D. Novotny, V. Poisella. Row 2: D. Carney, S. Morchauser, J. O'Keefe, J. Lenehan, J. DeMarco. Row 5: P. Avinus, B.
