From April 30th to May 3rd, St. Helena's Dramatic Society, the Genesians, presented their fourth annual three act play. This year's presentation was Stalug 17, which had a successful run on Broadway and was made into a hilarious motion picture. The Genesian production climaxed many months of hard work and practice and upheld the Sociery's long line of previous triumphs. The plot concerns a group of American airmen held in a German prisoner of war camp in 1944. It appears that the Gestapo knows more than it should due to the efforts of a spy planted in one of the barracks. The peak of action is reached when the spy is revealed and a downed Hier escapes from the Nazis. James Thornton played the lead role of Sefton, a sullen young men who is considered the barrack's heel but later be- comes the hero. john McKessy portrayed the spy and john Murphy, with Michael Parker and Frank Fata played the bar- rack'c clown and his stooge, respectively. Richard McCoppin was seen as the Man of Many Faces. For their efforts Thorn- ton and McCoppin received the Society's Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor Awards. jr- gifs N ' jk? gelflefi '!?:':s, N if -9 i f, 'E ,Q
