Barbera. 98 1 The oldest and perhaps the most popular of the social extracurricular activities in the school is the Dra- matics Club. Named the Genesians in honor of St. Genesius, the patron of actors, the keynote of the club has always been superb perform- ance. Prior to 1955-1956, the Genesians were moderated by Bro. Francis Thomas who directed three excellent productions, Brother Or- chid, Room Service, and Arsenic and Old Lace. The present mod- erator, Brother Stephen Damian, will direct the popular comical in- terpretation of a POW' camp. Sta- lag l7. ln addition to providing social and dramatic entertainment, the Genesians also strive to provide for the cultural development of its members, Through dramatic in- terpretation on the stage, an interest and an appreciation of drama is thereby cultivated. The culmination of the year's efforts takes place in the presentation of the annual play, Keen competition among the mem- bers and from the students who audition produce a splendid cast. To complement the actors Brother Stephen also has selected the very capable and necessary men behind the scenes. With an emphasis on quality and the mastery of the difficult, the Genesians can always be expected to perform magnifi- cently.
