UD, 9 LU ggrother Paul Wilfrg arrived at'.St. Helena's in gptember, 51952, and th him came the St. Helena's Qiudio Club. Its formal ginning took place in Oc- itober, one month later. Ii its first year, its members already number twenty-Seven, all freshmen. Next year the present members iwill be re-admitted and a new group of freshmen will be taken in, keeping this procedure throughout the club's entire life-span. The main purpose of the club is to give its members a working knowledge of radio,-50 that some may even- tually receive amateur ham transmitters' licenses. A license, of this type will ermble an amateur radio enthusiast to practice radio Bansmission, on the air. Foremost in the club's cufgent activities is the construction of a radio ' ' by each member, i ' b Club. Although extra-curricular most flourish- the materials being supplied the Audio Club is one of the activitiegtin the school, it is one ing. Most of the work is for the personal benefit of the members themselves and tends to create a keener incentive for all concerned. Every afternoon the staff may be found in the Science Lab, their workshop, diligently performing their assigned tasks. Needless to say, the future for them is as a ,vast field, merely waiting to be harvested. The objective of the club is to build a ham transmitter for the use of the entire organization. The officers of the Audio Club are elected semi- annually by the members. The first elections pl'0- duced Marc Labelle, Presidentg Charles Schultz, Vice- Presidentg Robert Barry, Secretary, and William Mol- loy, Treasurer. In the mid-year elections, Marc La- belle retained his presidency, and the members chose William ,Molloy as Vice-President, Eugene Kneip as Secretaryjand Robert Barry as Treasurer, all in the class of '56.
