To enable the students to more fully understand and interpret the happenings of the present day, to enable them to better prepare themselves for duty both as a citizen of their country and as a citizen of their own local community, and to further enable the students to both express their own views and opinions and to hear those of their fellow students — for these purposes there was founded on the campus of Saint Helena the Current Events Forum. These forums were held in fashion of a round-table discussion with ail participating. The topics were those which appeared to be of national interest and of importance to the largest number of those members present.
