' 'w in ,-.-ns- '!l -1111-lil CUB SCOUTING, the younge boys' program, began at S Gregory's in 1949. On Octobe 31 Pack 333 was issued charter under the Very Re Vincent J. Wolf, superintenden and J. M. Haddad, instifuticin representative. Twenty-eig cub scouts were divided in five dens.

EXPLORERS AND BOY SCGUTS EXPLORER POST NO. 333 is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Council 1502, Tyler, Texas. Exploring is the older branch of Scouting. ,instead of placing the emphasis on outdoor activities only, the ES-:ploring program also includes social activities, service to community and vo- cational experiences and guidance. During this past year, Post 333 has had many overnight camp outs for outdoor activities, hayrides, skating parties, stag par- ties, Western dance and took part in the East Texas Area Council Social for its social activities, received Ground Observer Corps training, assisted at the carnival, served as volunteers after the tornado, served breakfast to Mothers on Mothers' Day, worked during the Good Turn Day collections, ushered at football games, served as messengers during a Civil Defense Exercise, served an Emergency Meal to the Boyscout Troop, served the Knights of Columbus breakfast on Scout Sunday for its service to the commu- nityg received vocational guidance from prominent individuals at ' A . -W f -' ,,1 .t.. EEE , a h im A., xx its post meetings, visited the General Electric plant, Barksdale and Hensley Air Force bases, Lone Star Steel plant, Cotton Belt Railroad yards and participated in two Rose District vocational con- ferences as part of its vocational guidance program. And we look fondly back at the early morning mobilization exercise which got Mom and Dad up at 5 A, M, Topping off the whole year was our trip to the Cathedral in Dallas where several of our boys received the Ad Altare Dei award. Our hats are off to them.
